Anyone know the maximum pressure to the wheel motors? I'm talk about the point where the release valves kick in.

I'm not sure if the wheel motors themselves have reliefs on the 1845, but on my 2445 you need to test both sides (left is forward and right is reverse) of the transmission to 5000psi deadheaded (i.e. against a tree); these lines go to the overpressure block. The center port is the charge pump (and is just capped - you also use it for bleeding after changing filters); off the top of my head, I think that is 240-260psi at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle.

I had a spec sheet for the Danfoss variable displacement pump but can not find it at the moment. If something is causing an over-pressure situation that could be the cause of blown seals even though they do use the case drain on this series of motors.

The 4000 series 24 cu in/rev motors are rated 2750 PSI continous, 3500 PSI intermittant and 4200 PSI peak.

There have been a few cases of problems with the shuttle valve on these machines which I think is made by PT.

Also on a side note, the 30 cu in motors you found at SurplusCenter have different style ports than the O-ring style used on the OEM motors. The motor-end port casting can be swapped out however.

Good Luck!!

Thanks for the replies. My brake tender gauge usually rests on 1500 when under way and no significant strain on the motors. I've never tried it against an unmovable object. For some reason, I thought the releases were set at 2500 psi. But I have no idea if this is correct. I'll ask Terry in the morning.
