Frank-N-Ford has new sneakers. This should make it grip. Had to mod the wheels a bit to get fender clearance.

What is the size of the rear tires?

16.9 x 28
It sets up about 6" higher so now I have to reconfigure my wheelie plates so I don't flip it backwards.

That is very nice! I have a '52 8N and have considered putting the 302 I have sitting in the back of the barn. It's a left over from when I put 5.0HO/EFI into my '66 mustang. I always thought it would be bad to the bone to drop it in the '52. Yours is very nicely done.

with the back sitting so much higher are you worried about oil pick up in the engine?

wow... i have 16.9-24's and 14.9-28 on fords.. but not 16.9-28.. bet any gear over 2 is unuseable, due to speed.

i'd be worried about no oil in the rear end and pto area....

I wasn't, should I be? I am only playing with it, not really do any long term work. The pan was all cleaned of sludge and the pickup screen cleared before we installed it, oil pressure is good.

I have the Sherman over under in it so I am only using low range. 4th gear in low range seems very comfortable for puttin around and 1st is still a low gear and pretty low. Reverse is very manageable too.

I wasn't worried about rear end gear oil, should I be? I have the PTO and 3 point lift out of gear so that should reduce draw on fluid for rear end.

The tractor was designed to run up and down hills. I would not be worried about fluid in the rear.

Yeah, run up and down.. Except the tea is permanently aimed up!. The trans, Hyds and rear are common sump, so jacking the rear puts oil forward. Common way to change the pro oil seal without losing oil is to jack the rear, then no oil comes out. I'd make sure there was oil at the ring gear.. Those sre big tires, bigger by a size on my 950 row crop, and it has a taller front than an n to even it out.

Just sayin, not my machine, but id make sure the ring hear runs in oil...
