1958 Ford 850

I recently purchased a "new" to me 1958 ford 850 tractor. Took it on its maiden voyage this weekend to deer lease. After getting started noticed a lot of heat around muffler and manifold. Like glowing bright red and causing tractor to vapor lock. Whats causing this and how do I remedy the situation? Any help or input is greatly appreciated. Thank yall in advance!
