1958 Massey Ferguson MF-50 Remotes?? HELP!

Ferguson/Massey Ferguson offered "drawbar stays" back in the day. They attached to the tractor with a long pin, just below the top link, and extended to the ends of the draft arms, attaching by way of the lower link pins.....(That aughtta confuse everyone) They held the 9-hole 3-point drawbar in a fixed position. It ALSO held the draft arms fixed so the single acting remote could work properly WITHOUT the draft arms moving. I've got a couple pairs floating around the shop (somewhere...) I've seen 'em @ TSC also. IIRC, they work on Fords too.

yep, I've seen the ones you speak of.

ford also had a set that fit on top of the axle and clamped around it and hooked to the knuckle end of the upper lift arms.

all accomplished the same thing.

there there are the cheap among us that just chain the upper lift arms to the axle ..

I've seen them too, almost bought a pair long before this haybine thing came along, then decided that it would be way easier to use a swinging drawbar than to have to throw the stays on and off anytime i want to keep my drawbar in one place. I just wrapped a strap around the cross drawbar and tied it to my top link mount, so it doesnt go down with the haybine

How did your mf 50 handle the haybine? Did your rig work as planned?
And does your three point still work if nothing is connected to the hose?

I can't answer the part about "how the haybine worked", but I can tell you the 3-point hitch will work just like it always did when nothing is hooked to the single acting remote.
