Soundguy is right...proofmeter cable will go from back of cluster to the generator. If cluster is found to be no good you can usually find an aftermarket one on e-bay for around $150 to $180. If you must rebuild and you are going to do it yourself just google ford 3000 engine parts, there are tons of websites that sell them. I just had mine done by a local machine shop cost just under $1500 that included boring, rings, pistons,all bearings,gaskets etc.and having the head done with new valves. The online price for a total rebuild kit was going to be around $600 to $700 and I was still going to have to have the head and engine work done.
