1975 Ford 2000 electrical problem

My tractor will not start, replaced battery and it started right up, a few hours later it would not turn over! Is this a voltage regulator? ignition switch? something is draining my battery.

the 2000 series showed having either gas or diesel eng either one shows having a lucas generator but the starter could have been ford branded or lucas branded a good portion of these have been converted to alternators let us know what yours has and will try help from there most likely alt/gen related

It is a diesel with a generator- it will start with a charged battery and will run with the battery cables off but the battery drains when not running and battery connected

I have one of those. SWAG; stuck contacts in the regulator. Get a voltmeter and chase the voltage.
