Yep. None of which have been identified yet. :)

The power steering leak seems to be a chronic issue with this series of Ford tractors. My brother in law's 2910 has leaked for over a decade with multiple attempts to repair but to no avail.

I've got two machines with the same steering system. One leaks. One doesn't.

Tomorrow I'm pulling the pump on the leaky machine and put new seals in it. It's leaking Power Steering fluid into the crankcase.

Every Ford power steering pump deserves one set of shaft seals. None of them deserve two sets.

I just finished mine. The power shaft had a pretty good groo r where the forward seal runs.

Put all new o rings and seals in it. Back together.

Acts like it's got air in it. Not very powerful.

Thoughts or suggestions Rick?

Did you install both shaft seals the same way or opposing each other?
Did you bleed the system by raising the front wheels clear of the ground and steer it lock to lock several times with the tractor running?
Is the oil visibly aerated?
New filter?

Sorry fellas, been busy at work and home so haven't had a chance to update. It's two wheel drive, 8x2 trans, 5' hog (way smaller than what it can handle, loader, straight metal, paints faded, runs good, 3 remotes, extra tubes for rear tires, extra tooth bar for sickle, 3 remotes.

Never had a sickle mower but the cheapest new one I found on website was almost 3K.

Thanks for all the replies. Getting good info from all of you.

Opposing on the seals, as they came out.
Steered with tires off the ground for a couple minutes with no improvement.
The oil doesn't look badly aerated.
New filter.

I was pretty careful when assembling to avoid internal leaks due to improper positioning of 0-rings.

I'll let it sit overnight to get air out of the oil and try it again in the morning. If it still feels this way I'll take it apart again looking for something out of place.

Thanks Rick.
