Fallon - yes, it was the auction run by Kenny Nixon. I am looking at some different industrial loader backoes in the area. You are right, there are some great 2WD older hoes that are much less than a 'tractor' loader hoe.

Do you have any leads on transport companies in the Denver area that are reliable and won't rip me off?

Not really. I have a 14k lbs rated trailer & F250 beater farm truck, so can get by with most anything. That 14k trailer barely even feels my L3200 which might hit 4k lbs with my heaviest implement. Will ask my neighbor, he has a pole barn business & getting rid of his equipment hauling trailers as he has a real hauler lined up to contract out to rather than doing it himself.

It can't hurt to call up a local tow company and ask what their rates are. Seen a few posting in Craigslist Farm & Garden or Heavy Equipment advertising hauling services.

You mentioned dead trees... were you planning on digging stumps with that L35? You are going to be hurting with a small machine trying to dig stumps. A 10 minute job with a real hoe would take a small one hours, if it could even get the whole job done. The industrial machines are definitely backhoe loader only, not going to be much help for tilling & stuff, fine grading will probably be marginal as well. At 10k lbs 2wd hoe will have more traction & pulling power than a 4wd 6k lbs machine. As long as you aren't in deep mud, it will be just fine.
