It's January, it was -7*F here this morning....cabin fever?

LOL. I guess I can't blame you. It's supposed to be 60* here today. I'm getting a late start, but heading out to my property right now.

Just picked up this speedco log splitter for the 3 point. Found it on craigslist for $280. Now I just need to install my rear remote and I will be ready to split some firewood.

I think you can run it off a PTO pump, might be easier than installing remotes.

I already purchased one remote from MIE. I just need time to install. Stacked lots of brush yesterday. 4 hours and counting.

Many ways to skin a cat...absolutely...but,

We did a computer models of a CK Series Tractor, one with Loaded Rear Tires at 600lbs, one with 600lbs at the lift pins. The reaction at the front axle was reduced by 34% with the weight at the Lift Pins vs. Loaded Rear Tires.

We recommend the weight at the Lift Pins, we will load the tires when the customer requests it. We always point out the difference.

If you ask the Tractor, it would always ask for the weight at the lift pins.

Of course this is all true. The math is pretty simple. I don't think anyone has been arguing to the contrary. But, that doesn't negate the fact that you can use the bucket (what fits only in the bucket) safely and effectively with just loaded tires. Of course it's even safer and easier on the tractor if loaded tires and a rear weight.

You're assuming that, it's not a fact. Kioti says there's a minimum required on the 3pt, and you think it's okay to simply substitute loaded rear tires. The only actual facts here are that Kioti has spec'd a minimum on the 3pt, without qualifiers that you're trying to add on.

Everybody is free to do as they please, but giving advice to a newbie is a different matter.

It would be interesting to know what the front axle load capacity is on my DK.
The factory front tires on my DK45...10-16.5 6 ply Titan Trac Loader, are rated for 3500 lbs per tire at 45psi x2=7000 lbs:confused3:
