Buying Advice 1st Tractor 35-40hp - Kubota, LS,?

So after doing some digging I have found a Kioti dealer about an hour drive away.

you mentioned looking at the DK series but they don't seem to offer an HST option? Need to do a little more research on Hydraulic shuttle vs HST

What would you compare the DK4510 to in the LS line the XR4145? I'm getting a over the phone quote from the Kioti dealer of around $27k for a DK4510HS with Loader Sound about right?

Im still questioning the Kubota FEL strength just seems to weak for what I might want to do.

L3800 handles 1000 lbs well, 1200-1400 lbs to might get it off the ground. My Little L39 TLB can do more than double, and that is just about right, so I think that rules out the little Kubota's L47XX is better.

hydruaulic shuttle vs hst = both hydrualic transmissions. the shuttle will most likely give you a level near stearing wheel. you flip with your hand/pinky to go from forward/reverse. much like a blinker lever. shuttle setup more likely to offer same speed forward and reverse in all ranges/gears beyond the HST.

HST basic tractors, generally have a rocker peddle. toe one way, heel of feet the other way. or they offer 2 pedals one forward, and the other reverse. a shuttle more likely just has a single peddle and then the forward/reverse lever at steering wheel.

for myself, twisted around looking backwards. my right foot may not be in best postion to to reach a peddle. heck just single peddle on the ford 333 TLB (tractor loader backhoe) i still have to blindly hunt for the single peddle. on other hand normally already have hand on steering wheel and quick slide down the steering wheel to find lever.

My choice would be the LS XR 4140HC Very nice tractor and the actual cab height isn't bad. A little extra caution when near the trees or a little extra trimming and you wont have any troubles. Besides when winter comes you will be thanking those of us who suggested the cab !

A backhoe would be a nice "extra" but I can see a cab would be good to have in the winter... Have fun deciding.

Well, I want to thank everyone for the advice.

I pulled the trigger on a deal I just couldn't refuse. I went back to the local LS dealer and he made me a fantastic deal on his last year XR3037HC with 30 hours on it.

I now have a 37hp tractor with a cab! The pricing was just to good to compare to anything else that even came close to the same tractor.

I went and drove the kioti dk and Ck series and have to be honest I felt the fit and finish, cab size etc was way better on the LS xr line.

Time will tell but for now I am pumped for my Monday delivery.

Congrats! I was very happy with the LS I had, and it sure will be nice to have that cab when it gets cold! Post pics when it's delivered!

Congrats and welcome to TBN.
I think you will be happy with the XR3037HC. I've had mine for just over 3 trouble free years and about 190hours. Nice to have heat in winter and A/C in summer too. Regen cycles work in the background while continuing to do your work.
