2 bottom plow Ford 101

Ford 101, two bottom 16in. 3-point plow, with new shears.

Any idea what this is worth? It looks to be in fair shape from the photo. It most likely is too much plow for my Kubota L3130 though. Yes, it is missing one of the coulters.

without seeing a picture, my initial guess would be $300 to $400. Not having coulters is really not an issue. Most don't have them. My three bottom Ford 101 has none and it works great. Is the trip protection shear pins or spring mechanism?

Would go for around $200 around here. I paid $100 for this trip plow and it was only missing one cutting wheel. Picked wheel up at swap meet for $15. Philip.

The spring trip 101 plows are worth more than the shear pin plows. If it does not need any metal replaced Retail would be $300-400 on a shear pin and 400-500 on a spring trip version. Ken Sweet

Hard to tell from the photo but it doesn't look to be a spring trip. There are several more bolts on the cover plate for a spring mechanism.

I paid $400 for this one and it needed landslides, shins, and shares.

That is a nice job on the landslide rebuild. Is that a straight cat 1 cross drawbar used for the hitch bar? Ken Sweet

No, it is a Cat 2 drawbar. The measurements were taken from the original and the Cat 2 welded on as closely as possible.

The adjustments on the Kubota M7040 with T&T make it easy to set up.

I have a Dearborn 2x16 plow. 12" or 14" bottoms would be better for your size tractor....and mine....IMO. Those 16's add up to allot more area to turn. Still....I did pull mine with my prior tractor...a JD 790....but it took all the tractor had (4x4 and diff locked) when I plowed deep......and I have sandy loam for soil. I have not plowed with my 3320....yet.

You have more tractor than my 790...but I am not sure of your tires or soil type...which are two HUGE factors. Don't expect to pull 2x16" in heavy clay. (I had ag tires and fluid for my 790 JD)

I don't plow much here....as it just turns up too much sand on my land. I just have such a pretty plow.....and I don't want to sell it. :laughing:

OH....and I paid $400 (IIRC ?) for mine....but it had been re-built and was in excellent condition....w/ both coulters, etc.

If your 3 bottom is setup like the 2 bottom in the picture (about level across the hitch, pin to pin) Then in order to get the plow to run correctly, you may need to screw in your tractor right leveling box assembly quite a lot. The plow should be level with the ground, left to right and front to back after the right tires drop down in the furrow on the second pass. Ken Sweet
