2 bottom plow question

   / 2 bottom plow question #42
I would measure between the two beams and expect to get the designed "width" of the bottoms. In setting up the plow behind your tractor, you will want the wheel spacings (especially the one running in the furrow) to accomodate the plow as well as the plow adjusted to trail behind the tractor such that the designed width of the forward plow takes the right amount of "cut". If not adjusted right, the plow will not pull straight and will turn the tractor. One can overcome this by riding a brake but its not the best way to do it.

Nice disc plow..

I'd love to get a small disc plow for my cub.. i see them once in a blue moon.. but it is usually attatched to a cub for sale as a unit..

Thanks. The distance indicates it's a 14" 2-bottom plow. Fergeson or Fergeson-Sherman model 14A.

However it's equipped with Oliver Moldboards. I'll post a picture soon under a separate post, because I'l like to get some more info on it.

I must admit, this is a first for me. Does this work as well as a moleboard plow? Why would you use this instead of a moleboard?

Last summer I kept stumbling over single disc sulkys. I'd imagine a guy with a good shop could make one of those work with a Cub.
