1 cyl still works with pivoting scisor linkage...

Yeah, I saw a chain drive with one cylinder also. The one cylinder solutions need a lot of bearings, or links and pins and design . The two cylinder version is pretty straight forward.

How about two cyls in series (synchronized) to allow the exhaust from one to power the other....you'd have to mess with displacements....

or 2 cyl, both da, and 1 spool, and one diverter... then adjust one side, then the other..

I want to run this off the existing loader valve, diverter button on joystick already in place, diverter valve already in place for grapple or plow angle . Push the button and use the joy stick one way or the other . slide in or slide out. I think extend sideways in place is the way to go as long as it does not break up the skid.
As always there are a lot of good comments here, keeps my brain up to date.
I can see that I am going to have to add "the no no jump out the seat safety button to the joystick" so I can stand up and see the forks. Otherwise broken skids for sure. I cannot see the fork end now and end up guessing when going forward. There are some broken skids from that already.

a seperate relief and return in that single ckt for the forks will go along ways to preventing broken skids..

What ever you do, protect the cylinders. We pick up a lot of odd ball stuff on pallets, and sometimes there will be part of the load overhanging the pallet that can get into the cylinders. We have them all protected now with angle iron, after having had to replace a couple of bent cylinders. I'm guessing the cylinders on the small fork lifts (5,000 lb) are 1.5" bore and .75" rods. Pretty small anyway.

2 companies I know of that make these are Cascade and Bolzoni. I know you can search for Cascade forklift attachments and view parts breakdowns and service manuals online.
