They knock on your door, walk in with badges in their hands, and hand you a brochure explaining why you need to pay taxes )

( They can still detect it if you have ever put non-tax in your tank. The red dye is detectable long after use. It stains everything. You even have to be careful when you buy a used diesel truck. The previous owner could have used non-tax and you could get caught with their mistake. )

Looks like they could get you for rusty fuel lines too.

Well don't come to New England. Here we are routinely stopped and checked on the road and in our yards by State Police Truck Teams, DOT Inspection Teams and IRS inspectors. I suspect if you planted a foot on one of them it would be good for a few years in the pen??

yep, same here in PA, they just point at you from the roadside, and if you dont pull over, they chase you down and bring you back. they are even allowed to hide at alternate routes up to 1 mile away and direct you to the DOT check. they check everything, from brake adjustment to triangle/flare kits, to air leaks, to Physical card, to window tint. most of them will not rest until they fine you for something.

we dont DARE run red fuel here, as we are stopped most of the time once a week during peak (summer) months. i thought we lived in a free country as well, but that is apparently not the case. more like a ******-esque society of SS.
