there is a way to make cruise work in reverse but it would take a little wiring change and a recalibration of the drive controller

it would be a pain but it can be done

if you were going to use it in reverse a lot it may be worth it

if it's still under warranty don't let jd know about it

it wouldn't damage anything

Does the 3005 come with the power reverser.?? If it does, that's the tractor that would likely be my next one. Old design, good tractor. However, I would like to get to the 25hp/pto mark to run the snowblower. I think pto power on the 3005 is less than that. The 3320 would be the better choice but money becomes an object at that price point.

Does the 3005 come with the reverser.??

Did I mention... I love my 770.!!

According to JD implements brochure the 3005 and the 3032E can run the SB1164 and the 1174 snow blowers:

Implements & Accessories - Product Catalog

The 3032e only comes with the 2 speed hydro, not the 3x20 ehydro, which I believe is the same or close to the hydro on the 2x20 series tractors.

Here's the tranny and the cruise control info:

Easy-to-use hydrostatic transmission (HST) increases tractor performance

The 3005 comes with the 8F/2R tranny, not the PR:

Here's the specs:

Product Specification for 3005 Compact Tractor (27 hp)

Thanks Rob.

I have pretty much scoured the JD configurator and I was quite certain the 3005 didn't come with the PR.

Although I often think of a new tractor, realistically I think I will need to stick with 770 for a long time. Which isn't a bad thing.

In the Deere line I could only consider the 3005 or the 3032e. I like the hp rateings on the 3032e but it really is a sort of stripped down basic tractor. I think I'll just stick with "twin sister" to the 3005....my 770.

The 770 and the 990 (4005) are great work horses. My friend Dawn has the 990 for use on the farm and she's happy with it

I hear you on this.

My 770 weighs 2500lbs......I think the 3005 is now shy of 2100lbs. if I am not mistaken.

It didn't take me long to realize that weight is a very important factor in transferring HP to the ground.

I have Ag tires on my 770 and it does very well. I am looking forward to operateing my 64" rear snowblower. It is my first PTO attachment and the tractor has just 20pto/hp.....the bottom number of recommended HP to run the blower. With this in mind...I would like 25 or even 30pto/hp but, that money thing keeps talking in my ear.

How's that saying go.??.....All it takes is time and money.:confused2:

Yes, the 3032E and 3038E have a control for the 3PT rate of drop. It's just right of the seat.

The owners manual is available on-line.
