?? No idea about an "even up" trade.??...but Im sure ..ifs its super nice shape..it can be sold for enough $$ that the difference of out of pocket $$ isnt going to break you up.

LOTS of people out there ..with tractors "about " the size of mine ( low to mid 30HP range) that are looking for "smaller" impliments. If I had the right sort of property..heck Id put out a LG garden ( NOT as large as this "wacko buddy of mine though..lol) and have needs for say..6 ft set of disks...2 row planters....smaller sized cultivators..etc.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm still looking for a 2 row but, may also look at building a couple out of a used 4 row. Any pics or other information would be great.

Thanks again

I looked around for a one row planter and I had a friend that had a four row Cole planter he junked. These are pre-JD flex 71 units, as everyone junked the cole planters that went out of business and bought JD. Anyway, the toolbar looks like the pic posted of the JD planter. It is called 2 1/4 " diamond toolbar. It is solid steel , not tube. I cut the toolbar into 2 five foot sections and a 4 footer. The planter mounted just like the pic shows. Toolbars are found in varying sizes and shapes so find the one that fits your planter, but jusdt in cas you can't find one, here is a source for brackets! www.lorenzomfg.com . Also the planter plates are found here at www.lincolnagproducts.com . Or why not but new stuff like these at http://www.stevenstractor.com//merchant.ihtml?id=1118&step=2 If I were you, I would look for an old set of 4 rows that some farmer has abandoned, but hurry because the scrap steel man is also looking! We have a local steel mill here and you would not believe what great things are thrown out and melted down for scrap. America's best made products on the scrap heap!

Take a look here. Being in Kentucky, you should be able to get them. They are based here in Georgia. Many are sold, both 2 and 1 row. This spring I picked up a new 1 row unit with cultivator. A few weeks later I had the dealer call in for a side dresser. Spent around 1K on the whole thing. It works great, granted that I did have to tweak a few tight fittings when it first arrived. This design has been around for a very long time. I was surprised when I first did a search and found that the company was still in business about two years ago. As you will see, they also now own Cole, so the Cole planters are still available also. I think the 2 row unit runs closer to 2k, but the 1 row is great for gardening. We had a two row Covington back when I was a kid, but my dad converted it to a single row to make it easier to use in the garden spot. I planted a couple of acres with my single row unit this spring. Like another said, it takes a while, especially with a single, but it is perfect for a two or three acre garden.
