Just use a Meter to check continuity, the center of the top of mno, and the center of the other end of the cable, also, check for short, across the two poles, and then if that works out ok, when you get your ant. check SWR's .

Junkman, You might get better results from 1 anttenna with this and a nice CB antenna than with the AM/FM to cb combo... Sorta more CB orented. Can't be worse I would Hope. CB/AM/FM Spliter I have been considreing something like this to use on my 96 Exploder.. As it has no practical place for a traditional CB antenna. I thought I might replace the AM/FM one with a nice Wislon 24" cb antenna and this do hicky... My only consernc is it makes no mention of a max power rating.

If he says it's factory, it must look like the attached picture of a GM Delco unit.

PBMAX,
CBs are limited to 4 watts (or is it 5) at any rate, all the mobile units should be rated for the same wattage, so it SHOULD be rated correctly. Of course, if you're running an illegal linear, then you'll probably fry the AM/FM.

Junk,
Wow, I graduated HS in '71, so you'd think that I would have noticed combo units like that. I really don't remember ever seeing one though!

Thirty cars, that's pretty rare! Hopefully it's in good condition. Sounds like it's worth something. Good luck with it.

It needs to be repainted, but the car is solid with only surface rust from stone chips. It has 19,000 miles on it and I know that the mileage is correct for a variety of reasons. I am the 3rd owner, the first owner was in Saskatchewan Canada, and the second one that I purchased it from was in Northern Alaska. When new, the cost was over $26,000.....

mwechtal, used to have a amp but even if I wated to have one in this truck there is no practical place for it. Besides, I use it for traffic and radar reporting... 98% of the time so i could care less about kicking it up...But It does have SSB and the puts out 11watts in that mode... and thats what I was conserned with. What would happen to the AM?FM? if I used the SSB. So I emailed one seller to see what they say the power rating is. If they respond I'll post it in case any one else is intersted.
