$20,000 buys what?

Okay, here's one for those of you who own. I'm looking for as much tractor, FEL, shredder (rotary cutter) and box blade as I can get. Every time I get a quote, it comes back $25-30k.

Who has recently spent around $20k and what did you get?

This may be a moot point because once you finance, the payment between $20k and $25k isn't much if you stretch it out long enough.

Give us an idea on hp range?? that will determine loader price range, and hog size - price.

I think you should be able to get a 6' hog, and laoder, and tractor in the 20k range.. perhaps with a mahindra tractor.. or branson.. montana.. deffinately chinese.. For a while the jd 5103 ( 50 hp ) was on sale for some low price? 13k.. add 3-4k for a loader.. and another 700-1k for mower..

Go to www.normangeetractor.com to get an idea on Kubota prices in Texas. Probably too far for you to travel but will give you a good idea of what to shoot for. Also go to www.americanclassified.com and look at the listing for a city near you under Farm & Ranch. Should be some local dealers advetising there.

JD 990, 6 foot box and 6 foot bhog should run 21.5k...plus tax

You gotta qualify what your looking for. You can buy a 80Hp Farm Commander thats been imported from the south side of guam and put a monarcy chopper rotary flail thingy behind it for about 2 grand out the door.

It all depends on what you want in a tractor... transmission, live pto, loader capacities, etc,etc. Each machine will excell in different area's.

My neighbor bought a new 28HP New Holland with FEL, hydrostatic transmission for about $18K early in 2005.

You can get prices for 5-ft rotary mowers and box blades from the Tractor Supply Co. website (about $500 for the BB, and $760 for the mower).

You can get a JD 5303 with a loader, 6' cutter and 6' boxblade for $20k or less.

In Dec., I got a BX23, wallenstein BX60 chipper, 48" rankin box blade, and rankin 48" brush hog for just under $20K. No interest 3yr. loan

1 year ago, I bought a New Holland TC24DA with a 12LA loader and a 756C Backhoe for a little over $22,000.00 with tax. It was 0% for 48 months. I guess it all depends on what you want to do.
