20 yards of loam and TWO flat tires

But have you ever had a single front tire keep going flat and you can't find a hole to plug? Or any where that it's leaking?

I won't give up till I find it..., once I start looking...if I can't get it with the soapy spray bottle, out comnes the trash can filled with water...

Last flat on my PU, searched for over an hour, nothing...come to find then next day on a second go around after some soapy water dripped on the valve stem, thats where the leak was...never thought to spray it down...:ashamed: duh..

Rather than expensive tubes made for tractor tires you can use tubes from discount auto stores. They won't have the exact size, of course, but anything close will work. The tubes expand to perfectly fit the tire.

All you really want is a contained bubble of air and any tube with the correct inside diameter will do.

I just got my first flat of the season today. I was bush-hogging and noticed the steering was stiff as I turned at the top of the hill. I stopped, looked on both sides, and the right one was completely unbeaded. I jacked up the front end with the loader and got off to check it out. You will never guess what happened. The stem was completely gone. A stick must have popped up and knocked it off. I have never seen that happen.

Is it a standard stem that I can get at auto store or Tractor Supply?

When I popped the bead on mine, the stem pushed in while I was trying to air it up. Yours may be inside the tire...

So what is the real solution here? I know the weaknesses of plain tires on the front (with a loader). I have read the weaknesses of tubes now. I have heard some talk of foam, but nothing specific.

It would seema that a "solid" tire is the way to go, but some kind of open cell medium density foam would be the way to get it solid. So what is there for really good options???

I don't have experience with foam in tractor tires, but I recently had a chance to compare my wheelbarrow with a standard pneumatic tire against my friend's with a foam tire.

Mine was easier to push loaded than his was empty. You may be wasting a lot of HP if you use foam filled tires.

After a bunch of flats (all on the front left tire, why is that???) I finally got em (both front tires) filled with that gel type foamy stuff! About 90$ bucks per tire, but the flat repairs were costing me 30$ a shot anyways, + travel to the tire store.

Now I'm told the only time I'll have to take the tires off the rim is when the threads are gone! and even then, they'll have to be cut off the rims! Rock solid now, no issues. Wish I could do the back tires, but they've been good so far and I'm afraid to ask what it would cost!

I foam filled all 4 tires on my L3400 2 front 7-16 tires $250 2 rear 11.2-24 tires $930 No more flats after mowing brush and the loader is alot more stable. I do have to say it added about 2000lbs to the tractor foam is very heavy!!!!!!! Make sure you have the rear wheels set where you want them before foam filling!
