A little late to chime in, but my dealer quotes $150.00, pickup and delivery. I am at 17.5 miles distant. The flatbed car hauler I used charged $130.00, one way, 17.5 miles. I bought the trailer. However my dealer does offer service specials during low volume repair times, offering free pickup or 10% off the repair bill.
$200.00 to transport 30 miles for servicing?

Put me sq in the "do the service yourself boat". It might change your dealers mind next time if show up pick up the $200 in fluid and fiters and say... yep you missed out on the job because you wanted to charge me $200 for the pickup....

Not true. The company pays for the repair cost - parts and labor done by the dealer. Getting it to the dealer is the responsibility of the owner. With that said, most dealers will get a sick machine that they sold and fix it under warranty at no charge. Some won't - that's the breaks. You need to either include warranty service pick up / delivery charges in the original sales contract or else hope you have a good dealer!
Just for comparison - I am getting a parts tractor loader hoe and having it picked up 600 miles away and delivered to my door for $400. Ah, the benefits of finding an empty back haul...
