Never had an issue with either holding its back blading position or fast dump (that i could notice). Sounds interesting and I will pay close attention next time on on it, to see if I can pick up on anything -

I'm coming into this late, but I had this mod done last summer, early, and the difference was dramatic. My dealer, JD Equipment, picked up the tractor, did the repair, and brought the tractor back, (round trip is about 25 miles) and didn't charge me a penny. I had about 100 hours on my 2305 at that time. Maybe I'm lucky to have an exceptional dealer, but doesn't sound very 'Deere-like' to me to try to duck the issue.

Hi Glen, did you get the fixed orifice solution or the needle valve? Could you possibly post a picture of your installation of this kit? Here's a picture of what my sales guy brought over for me today. He couldn't stay to install, so I guess I"m on my own

If I understand the Solution description correctly, I need to install this at the "bucket rod end circuit". Basically, I'll be restricting the flow of fluid out of the cylinder, which currently undergoes cavitation when dumping heavy loads.

Anyone have any thoughts/comments.

Do I need special tools. Looks to me like a crescent wrench is really all I need.

Hi ducat996, the problem statement on the JD Solution record # 35065 states that 'featherig or metering of the control to dump slowly will increase the amount of cavitation'. So rather than trying a fast dump, try it slowly.

Once the load is dumped, curl the bucket back up and see what happens. Or, once dumped, try to back blade the material you just dumped and see what happens.

Note: This only happens while dumping heavy loads. It was happening to me many times this evening as I was laying heavy sand down on the slope of a pond I am building

Gordnovo , please install the fix. and post pictures of the installation . and let us know what you think. to me it seems if it restricts flow out of the Cylinder. seems like it would make the bucket dump slow....:(

let ou know what you think and how it works....:)

Gord this kit you are showing i am seeing only one. is there 2 valves one for each side. like the one you posted? well there has to be. one for each cylender...:)

Gord , did you put the new valve in yet.
I would like to know if it helped or not....:)

Gord,
I don't see anything resembling what you show in your picture. Since the dealer did the work, I didn't see it happen, but I'm almost certain it was a fixed orifice that was installed, at least that's what was talked about when I talked to service about my problem. There was a service bulletin on this issue, but I can't tell you what the number is. If you like, I'll contact the dealer and find out what it was, and how they fixed it.

if regan is putting fluid to both sides of the cylender. how does it dump faster?

Regen takes the return oil from the rod end of cylinder when extending the cylinder to dump and instead of sending this to back to tank/drain it adds this back to the cylinder on the can end. This increases the total oil being sent to extend the cylinder causing the increase in dump speed.

That's Ok Glen, I'll get in touch with my dealer's service guys here. If it's not difficult to do, I'll take care of it.. if I need special tools, I'll need them to do it for me.

I've been so busy... using the tractor... that I haven't even had a chance to think about the cavitation fix. The 2520 is 3 weeks old and I've got 40 hrs on her so far. Tonight I used my box blade and graded the built up material around our newly dug 40000 gallon pond with my box blade, added a few large 900lb boulders on the edge of the sandy beach we installed yesterday. I moved a dozen or so railroad ties around my kids play structure and filled the area with about 15 yards of wood chippings. All this after a long day at the office. I can hardly wait to finish work and get home and let the real work begin :D:D:D

Later this month, I still need to spread another 15 yrds of wood chippings inside the centre tear drop of a circular drive we're in the process of building. I need to spread about 60 yrds of 2-4 " rock base across the unfinished side of our circular driveway, then top it with 20 yards of 1/4" down gravel. I need to get started on building a round pen in the back and bring in another 40 or so yards of pit stripping for footing then top it with screened sand. At some point soon, I need to spray the 10 acres for dandylions with my 3ph sprayer. I've got 10 large square bales coming in two weeks we'll need to stack in the hay shed with my quic-attach bale fork (that'll be fun!!). My wife wants to dig up and transport another 5 or 6 6ft spruce trees from our friend's tree farm down the road for around the pond. Oh.. and mow the 3 acre lawn (twice per week...with all this frickin' rain!!) At some point, I'll need to squeeze in the 50 hour service. This is stuff I have planned for June. There's an even longer list of tractor tasks for July! Let's just say I'm getting my money's worth out of this 2520. I can work at double the speed and four times more safely with this machine, compared to the 2305 (which was still a **** good machine, I might add!)

Also tonight, I discovered that the 12000lb drop leg jack on our horse trailer siezed up, so I need to source out a replacement and get someone with some welding expertise to help me out.

If I get to the cavitation fix before August, I'll be extremly surprised!
