2001 MF 1250 transmission

Hi all,

I am new here. I have been tractor shopping for a while now and am about ready to pull the trigger on a 2001 mf 1250. It seems like a great machine. Before any cash exchanges hands I had 2 fairly general questions.

1) The add states 16x16 tranny with a shuttle. I am wondering if this is a power shuttle or not? How do you tell?

2) Are there any common problems I need to be aware of and look out for before I finalize the deal?

I had a 1250 and I found it to be a very good tractor, with the 16x16 it is like a little bulldozer!
Mine was a syncro shuttle. Hope you enjoy your new tractor.

Thanks guys. It looks like a really stout machine. With the syncro shuttle are just forward and reverse synced or can I change actual gears while moving?

I think that all of the gears on the main stick are syncro as well.

I have a 2001 1250 16x16 power shuttle. Gears are only synced up 2-4 and down 4-3. Power shuttle is best. Shuttle with clutch good - I had a 1240 once with manual shuttle. I am having major electrical problems with my trac. If someone has some experience to share. Thanks
