Guy up the road has a 2004 TC35DA w/ 16LA FEL with 342 hours on the clock. Tractor comes with two 6' bush hogs, 2 rock rakes, and a fertilizer spreader. The tractor is in average condition. It looks like he kept it outside. The steering wheel rubber is dry rotted and needs replaced. Otherwise, the tractor looks to be in good overall condition. He is asking $17,000 for the package. Now for the question. I want to buy the tractor, FEL, one 6' bush hog, one rock rake, and the fertilizer spreader and have no idea how much to offer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am thinking about something in the range of $15,000. Keep in mind that this tractor is not in mint condition and needs some reconditioning.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, the $17,000 price doesn't sound bad with all that equipment. Even the cheapest cutters are about $850 each new and the spreader is about $500. I'm not sure about the landscape rakes, but my guess is that they are $500 or more too. That makes the tractor about $14,500 by itself, and that's a heck of a deal on a deluxe tractor with a loader at 342 hours.

Can you give us some info on the actual brand of cutters and landscape rake? If they are actually Bush Hog brand, that makes them much more costly than a King Kutter, for instance. I'd be inclined to buy all the stuff if the implements are in good shape, and then resell what I don't need. I think you could get a good deal for all that stuff at $17,000, but if you offer him less and he takes it, you will have made the "buy of the century." :)

Jinman,

Thanks for the fast reply. I am going to make the offer of $15,000 today and see where it goes. I am not sure what the tractor was used for but it definately has been kept outside for extended periods of time and I would put it at about a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. Both turn signal housings are broken off of the ROPS and the tractor is caked with grime is some areas. May have been used for a landscaping or construction business. I would think that for around $500 or so, I could have a new looking tractor with a little elbow grease and a few parts from the NH shop. I'll let you know how it works out.

Mike
