Did the dealer delete the EGR? Sounds illegal.

Ford would do their reputation an incredible amount of good if they'd fix the trucks so they don't break in the first place. I bet they know every weakness in the 6L and the 6.4L.
Just bring 'em in and fix them.
I know they won't because they'd lose millions in extended warranty sales.

I completely understand the inconvenience of having something worked on under warranty. Do you think they would notice when you got your truck inspected if you had EGR delete?

Yes, some dealers will do the delete, yes it is illegal, but those dealers are sympathetic to the fact that without it, it will never be reliable. And yes it is very easy to see that it has been deleted during an inspection.
But when your back is against the wall, do you take the chance of getting caught, or how many 4 to 6 thousand dollar engines jobs will you like to do? The gov. don't pay my bills.

And for the guy that added the programmer without head studs, tell him to start saving up now. If he's towing, I'll give it a week.

Inspected by local garage or dealer? Probably not. And if they did, they probably wouldn't care.
Inspected at a roadside motor vehicle (police) inspection? Maybe or probably and the fine/imprisonment is pretty scary. It's illegal to tamper with or remove a federally mandated pollution device.
Be careful when tampering with emissions. Some cops crawl underneath and look for this stuff.

A guy that hauls small loads of hay for me has a 6L. It pukes coolant when he puts a heavy load on it. Engine hasn't been modified or repaired by dealer.
When mine croaked at 91K, it was puking coolant out the tailpipe.

I have had a programmer, Quadzilla 160 Hp, since 5,000 miles in my 06 F350 with no studs or EGR delete. Same with the 04 F250 I had. One has about 100,000 miles and the other 80,000 with no issues.

I think that's where I see you more in the minority on this forum.
Seems like you are one of the few current owners with a good running 6L. I think your low-mileage helps, too. They don't start costing money until shortly before/after warranty expires.
Many more (myself included) have had big problems with their 6Ls. Look at all the 6 & 6.4L problem topics started by others.

I know way more guys with good luck than bad then. I just had 25 cases of gallon jugs of oil delivered today to my place by the Oil Guy. He had 550 with a lift gate stake bed. I asked him about the 6.0L in his and he told me they had 3 that have been very good to them. I went though enough troubles on a 05 Dmax to know what a bad diesel is all about. Injectors, glow plugs, overheating issues, bad paint, rattles in the interior panels, leaking seals, ect. All this and traded a nearly new truck in after 9 months. That bath did me in with the General. Funny thing is it was replaced with this dreaded 6.0L Ford that has been absolutely trouble free other then a fuel gauge that failed. Its not babied either. Truth is Ford has outsold GM and Dodge combined for years and years in the diesel trucks. Last year alone Ford outsold them combined by over 100,000 units so yes, its going to look like there are more problems.

I am not saying the 6.0L and the 6.4L are perfect. We all know they are far from it. They can me made very bullet proof with some mods. At the end of the day when you look at the truck as a whole the only truck that can even come close to the Superduty Fords is the latest generation GM trucks but it still has it weaknesses.

That's where you lose me. Just because someone has one bad truck all others of same brand are junk?
Or just because someone has one truck that is great it means all the same trucks are great?
It just don't work that way.
If you want to talk "numbers", I'd be willing to bet in the last year on this forum there's been more number of topics started about Ford problems than all other brands combined.

There is no way GM or Dodge diesels have more problems than Ford 6L or the Ford 6.4L like I have. No way.
