I'm in Northern NJ about 30 miles NW of NYC exit 55 on RT 287. That is why the 990 intrigued me since it is only 30 miles north of me.

On the 110 on Ebay it seems like he has a lot of interest. My understanding of Ebay is that all the bids come at the last second so you really have to know what you are doing. So I'm not too sure about it. The tractor is only about 70 miles from me in Stroudsburg. If I won the tractor then I could by the trailer as well and several of the other attachements. Then I could bring them all home on the trailer! Quite amazing however again I am not sure how the bid process goes on Ebay. Plus what should one really pay for the tractor alone? His number is starting at $25k so he is expecting to get more than that.

You can message the seller as in this case that he has no offers and to try and buy it outright now. I really wouldn't expect any more bids, but who knows, it could become a $35k. If you were referring to me having interest I'm not going to be jumping for this one, maybe if it were still there come spring, but it's a lot farther from Michigan. But with that said Ive been looking at 110s for 2 months now on many different websites and this is one of the best deals I've seen. I would scroll to the bottom of the page and "ask seller a question" and see about getting some more info and if he would take $25k and then get some of his attachments. Start at $30k for all and work up to $33-35k and it would be a steal!

What did the 110s sell for new?

Really depends on what optional features were included with the tractor.

The 4n1 bucket is about a $2,200 option.

The 3rd front SCV (must have for 4n1) and the 7th rear backhoe hyd function for a thumb or hammer or auger are options that raise the total cost of the tractor.

Good place to start... but the trailer is likely gonna be $3,500 by itself - if the seller has a "clue" at all!

Be very curious to know what make/model the additional equipment is.

A good used flail mower is SPENDY! If it's in any kind of shape (should be with only 312 hours on tractor) it will likely be close to $2,700 - 3,000.

Just "ball-parkin" the other attachments -- I come up with around $5K maybe close to $6K.

So, just for grins; say, this is an estate sale and the son just wants to see it go down the road... All the other stuff would really be a good deal at $10,000.

If he jumps at $25K for the tractor (I doubt it..) you're really looking at $35K and that would be a very, very good deal - IMO.

His starting bid for each item, if they were to go at that price makes a total of $32.2k. you can see them all here ben-logan | eBay. Also this person has a rating on Ebay of 92 which tells me that he sells on ebay which means he knows what he is doing. My guess is he knows what these items are worth and he is looking for more than $35k.

Well... that's why I said that $35K would be a very good deal. However, my mama always said -- "If you don't ask; you'll never know..".

Good luck.

$3500 is not a good deal for that trailer. You can buy new for about that around here. I wouldnt spend that money to get that in the "package"

Also if your taking everything off his hands I think he'd be happy to accept. The only thing that has any bids is the trailer. At $30k it would be robbery at $35k it would be a steal. But I wouldn't rule $30k out. Never hurts to ask.

And for how much a 110 costs, I believe the base was $43k and then add ons runs the price up. They are no longer available new though.

I went to see the 990 this morning that the guy is selling for $25k. It looks like it just came off the showroom floor. It has 174.7 hours on it and most have been done using the wood splitter that is 50 feet away from the garage where the tractor is kept. The backhoe has only been used once to pull out a stump. The FEL has been used to put wood in. The rubber on the tires, those little pieces that are on new tires have not even been worn off. He has never removed the backhoe nor the FEL. It has a cracked front cowling where a piece of wood came out and hit it. You can see that in the pictures.

You can see all the pictures which I took here https://picasaweb.google.com/116078...BoxAndWoodSplitter?authuser=0&feat=directlink

He is not willing to change the price apart from maybe $300 or $400 to cover the cost to buy a new cowling and put the roll bar back to its standard hieght. When he bought it he had them cut it down in size so that it would fit in his garage. So he knows it would cost some money to put it back to standard height again.

He has never used the fork or the ballast box and the 3 point hitch has never been put on the unit. It is a cream puff.

Then I stopped by the local Kioti dealer who was only 5 miles from his house and drove a DK35SE with HST. For this tractor with an 8.5" Kioti BH he quoted me $30,500 and I can get 73 months at 0% which with tax and all is about $32,800.

I am partial to the JD 990. but for $7k more I can have a tractor which is new with a 4 year warranty on the drive train and 2 yrs on the tractor bumper to bumper so to speak.

I would appreciate any of your thoughts on the JD and any comparison to the Kioti. the Kioti DK35 you can find here KIOTI - run ahead of the pack!

Thanks in advance. For the JD 990 I really have to make a decision tonight since someone else is coming to look at it tomorrow and the seller told me they are serious as well.

Well, being a Deere guy, and know the Deere will maintain it's resale value better...I'd say go fot the 990.
Pics were very nice, BTW.
