2011 Kubota BX2360
After 14 hrs on my new BX2360, I decided to remove the not-so-leveled MMM and follow manual to make adjustments. I also wanted to grease all the zerks associated with the MMM once I removed it. I am glad to say removing (and mounting) the MMM was simple. I did not experience any difficulty as some have posted. However, I am concerned about how extreme my adjustments had to be in order to level the blades. After removing the MMM (RCK60B-23BX), I 'reset' all the lock nuts on linkage and fine tuning bolt so I could just start over. Following the instructions exactly as printed, I ended up with my mower blades leveled correctly front to back and side-to-side. However, a few concerns/observations:
1. leveled blades L to R but my anti-scalp wheels are definitely closer to the ground on R side (you can see the difference). Is this normal? once again, I leveled from the cutting edge of blades. u can see in photo that the blade is visible if you are level with bottom of mulching shield (R side). But, on the L side u cannot see blade when u look level across base of deck?
2. in order to adjust parallel linkage so rear would be 0-5mm higher than front (as defined in manual), it required for lock nut adjustment on R side of front linkage to be about 1-2 cm difference on the threads compared to the L side front linkage adjustment (u can see on the photo how far from original position i had to adjust). is this ok if this is what it takes to level? it just seems it would torque the deck...

I assumed that the height of antiscalp wheels would be more relative to how level the blades are. but, in my case, it is not...is this something i should ask dealer or is this what other new BX owners are noticing?

A nice observation on the 2011: after removing the MMM i looked under rear of tractor to locate the ever-so-delicate HST fan that is usually damaged. apparently Kubota now mounts a skid-plate/shield to protect it now. I believe i read that owners of previous models have had to purchase some sort of shield.

B/c we are in a drought here, i cannot mow decent grass to determine quality of cut, yet.
Thoughts? comments?

also...the zerk from one of my anti-scalp wheels stripped from the plastic hub when trying to remove grease gun tip....this seemed cheap. anyone have that happen? i screwed it back in but not certain how tight it will remain.

Im having cut issues with my 54p deck on my BX.. I havent gone through the leveling procedure as i havent had the machine on a concrete surface to use as a base for my measurements.

Im curious to see if your newly leveled deck fixes your issues. Im having uneven cut and leaving grass way too long when transitioning from a flat to a slope part of my lawn. The deck isnt following the contours very well. Plus im having a problem with uncut grass in the path of the front wheels.

Yes, the grease zerks on the wheels pull out, I just gave up greasing mine. I'm just guessing here, but the blades on one side stick down further than the other side. It sounds like your blades are level, but your deck isn't. Lots of things could cause this, the shafts being slightly longer, the way the deck is stamped, etc. I've never really looked at mine that close, but mine cuts pretty level. If your blades are level, I'd say it should cut good.

I too had my zerks come out the silly plastic holes on anti scalp wheels. I just pushed em back in. I have plans sometime this winter to modify my wheels to accept zerk right on the metal of axle, not plastic.
as for leveling, how extreme are we talking about and how does the lawn look now with newly leveled deck?

Welcome to "Club set it up yourself".
Mine was a mess , and after correctly inflating the tyre pressures ,
the rear of the deck was much lower than the front .....
I have a 12mm difference between the two front hanger-frame
bolt lengths (because some idiot bent the MMM front deck hooks
by over tightening) in order to connect with both hooks and
the hanging-frame .
WRT the skid wheels , if the blade-to-ground distances ( on concrete )
are the same at both sides of the deck , then don't be concerned.
I bought a Kubota BX HST fan plate for $47 plus , and I'm happy
with it for the purpose that it serves with a MMM on lawns. There's
also enough clearance to get the HST filter off without the plate's removal.

The new guard for the HST provides some additional fan protection, but sadly, sticks have found their way around even the newer generation guard.
The MMM absolutely provides a great deal of protection.

There was a post or two on here, though, that even with the MMM on, a stray stick or two has indeed still hit the fan.

Tractor ownership means adjusting and wrenching. It sort of comes with the territory. At many dealerships, the setup "guy" is rather low on the totem pole sometimes it seems.
