After 14 hrs on my new BX2360, I decided to remove the not-so-leveled MMM and follow manual to make adjustments. I also wanted to grease all the zerks associated with the MMM once I removed it. I am glad to say removing (and mounting) the MMM was simple. I did not experience any difficulty as some have posted. However, I am concerned about how extreme my adjustments had to be in order to level the blades. After removing the MMM (RCK60B-23BX), I 'reset' all the lock nuts on linkage and fine tuning bolt so I could just start over. Following the instructions exactly as printed, I ended up with my mower blades leveled correctly front to back and side-to-side. However, a few concerns/observations:
1. leveled blades L to R but my anti-scalp wheels are definitely closer to the ground on R side (you can see the difference). Is this normal? once again, I leveled from the cutting edge of blades. u can see in photo that the blade is visible if you are level with bottom of mulching shield (R side). But, on the L side u cannot see blade when u look level across base of deck?
2. in order to adjust parallel linkage so rear would be 0-5mm higher than front (as defined in manual), it required for lock nut adjustment on R side of front linkage to be about 1-2 cm difference on the threads compared to the L side front linkage adjustment (u can see on the photo how far from original position i had to adjust). is this ok if this is what it takes to level? it just seems it would torque the deck...
I assumed that the height of antiscalp wheels would be more relative to how level the blades are. but, in my case, it is not...is this something i should ask dealer or is this what other new BX owners are noticing?
A nice observation on the 2011: after removing the MMM i looked under rear of tractor to locate the ever-so-delicate HST fan that is usually damaged. apparently Kubota now mounts a skid-plate/shield to protect it now. I believe i read that owners of previous models have had to purchase some sort of shield.
B/c we are in a drought here, i cannot mow decent grass to determine quality of cut, yet.
Thoughts? comments?
