2011 L3800 jerky three point hitch fixed?

Well after two hours of my new tractor the jerky hitch is driving me insane

I called the dealer and they sent out there mechanic and he said 100% that's wrong and he will fix it. They said the older ones had this issue but the newer ones are fixed. They are coming Monday to take it in and fix it

I asked what happens if they can't fix it and they said I would get A different tractor that didn't do that

The funny thing is. The three point was smooth for the first hour and it started today to get really jerky. I'm just hopeful they will stick to their word and make it right some how

Just a shot in the dark,but sounds like you might have a leak somewhere,or on an end clamp on a return hose.
Do you have an FEL on it ?
Was that acting up also ?
I'am no expert but only jerky 3pt. issues I ever heard of were on the L2800/L3400'S,and that was mostly on the pre 70xxx serial #'s.

Would love to hear if they fix it... or if they want you to upgrade to the Grand L. If they do fix it, try and find out what they did....

i hope they cant fix it and they upgrade me that would be sweet! they were shocked when they came to my house and saw it. They made me feel really good they acted like they felt really bad and would make it right, i just hope that is the case.

they kept talking about some valve being clogged with something or adjusting it, either way something will happen to make it right, keep your fingers crossed

i was right in the middle of a project when they came to look at it, and they told me to finish up what i was doing this week and monday they are picking it up to try and fix it.

The mechanic was like, "there is no way you could even use your auger with it shaking like that"

The auger was the only time I liked the jerk... it knocked off the dirt really well. ...but that was back when my PTO didn't turn off If they upgrade you... it'll cost you some (but might be worth it).

hmm i would throw out another 2k maybe to upgrade but no more. Ill see what they say

I don't think anyone has ever reported having a L3800HST that was NOT jerky, so don't hold your breath for a fix. Mine (delivered this spring) certainly is jerky (but it doesn't bother me, personally).

You know that the jerkiness only happens for small increments, right? A large change in the position control will have a smooth lift.

well i just got back from the dealer, i went to see how the other tractors 3 point hitches are and guess what they are the same. No way! JK

anyways the dealer claims they have never heard of this with the L-series and they say that its not ok and they will make it right or get me a tractor that does not do this.

The sales guy said i totally understand i would be pist also and i would demand that it was fixed. they are going to LOOK at fixing it on monday and then if they cant, they are going to work on upgrading me to the Grand L

I hate to say it but all of the dealers love to preach that they will fix everything for you, especially the mechanics... That is till the kubota rep comes out and says its normal. I doubt the dealer will be throwing thier own money at it when kubota has had this problem for years and done nothing. My kx121 mini ex had weak tracks which was a known issue, all i got was a rep that said it was normal a 2 week wait and a $500 bill. As far as upgrading, the grand l is smooth as silk but the closest tractor to yours is a 3240 which even with the 524? Lighter duty loader weighs in at 3k$ more. I doubt they are going to eat that. Either way I hope something is actually wrong and they can fix it, or they actually do help you out. Keep us informed.

They aren't going to fix it. (I don't mean to be negative... just to let you know what's realistic.)

Use this as an opportunity to upgrade to the Grand L at a discount.

I love my L3800, personally.

so they got the tractor today to start "fixing" it. what ever that means. Most likely they will drink a cup of coffee and look at it and not do anything.

However i think that the ball is in my court. I have not signed any papers on it yet as the owner was out of town for a week when i bought the tractor, i just gave them the down payment and took the tractor home and i was supposed to sign papers today but i am waiting to see what happens with the 3 point before i sign the dotted line.

Not sure if this helps. but if they dont make it right or upgrade me to my satisfaction ill just make them take it back since i have not signed the contract yet

I imagine the dealership will try hard to keep you happy, especially if they can upgrade you.

However, if things get snarky, keep in mind that many jurisdictions have "cooling off" periods for contracts.

Here in Ontario, you can cancel just about any contract within 10 business days.

what makes me mad and what really makes me want to get it fixed or upgraded is that i asked the salesmen when i bought it if they had any issues with this and he said, no they got them fixed that was the older ones.

So i am using that as leverage, i directly asked them about it and they told me no before i took it. They should know better than anyone if it has problems

Bad salesmen seem to suffer from memory problems if their at fault? I hope you keep the option open to cancel the sale? I don't believe we get any grace on a bad sale here on a used product, but I am not a Lawyer..
