2012 Ford F-150 buying advice

Awesome, you did good! I am a big fan of the XL and the vinyl floor (was even considering ordering vinyl floor as a no cost option on the XLT). As mentioned a couple posts up, I'd consider removing the rear seat if you think you won't have passengers very often. What about building some sort of slide-out floor platform?

I'm not sure I need the room by removing the seat. There is all sorts of space right now!!!! I haven't looked into what it takes to remove the seat, but will consider it before commiting to anything. I'm also looking at replacing my plastic tool boxes. I have one really nice metal one, but it's kind of noisy. I don't know if I can live with that much rattling, or if I should stick with plastic tool boxes for hauling stuff around. I like the quiet aspect of them, but hate the cheap handles and hinges. Both seem to wear out on my in a year or so. I think it would be cheaper to just buy top of the line plastic tool boxes with a good piano hinge and quality handles. Once I know what size they are, I'll have a better idea of how big to make the rack by how much room I need.

Thank you,
Eddie

The price is VERY GOOD!!!

Any thoughts on XL compared to XLT in a work truck?

Thanks,

I've lost track of how many levels of government there are where I buy the fancy model for the politicians. I'll be damned if I'm going to buy anything less than a near top of the line model for myself for work. It might be different if it's for the hired help to drive.

I bought the rubber OEM mats and placed them over my carpet. Keeps it nice and clean.

Good luck from a fellow F150'er!!

Congrats on the new truck my man! Ford really stepped it up in the work truck market by offering luxuries never heard of before on a base model. My buddy has that exact truck you bought and his came with everything you said PLUS cruise control and a CD player and I think Sirius radio but not sure. It's by far the nicest work truck be ever been in. His will move out with the 5.0 too! As for your deal, you got a very good price I think. You and I have the same payment, same interest rate, and the same loan term.haha

Anyone ever put an after market billet in the blank space in the front grill?

Congratulations on the new truck Eddie, I am sure it will serve you well for many years. It looks like it is ready and raring to go for work, yet still has many creature comforts..

Can't go wrong with the Ford F-150! This is my forth one (lease). I brought this one home over the weekend. It's not a work truck. My tractor told me it wanted to look gooood while it was being towed. And I love the V-6 Ecoboost!
