John, man I'm sorry, had no idea you had a sports car AND tractors/mowers...

Actually I do remember that car and it's a beauty. My son in law debated between that and some kind of Camaro Z28; supposed to be a Corvette killer with super charger etc. He got the Camaro and it lives in his garage under a tarp. I can tell from the black marks it has been out a couple of times.:laughing:

Sports cars are out for me, I can get down in them, but getting out/up is a no go. I can climb up into a truck and slide down and out, so it's trucks for me. I do like to look though.:licking:

Darn, you're right; problem is the first thing to go is your memory, so I forgot that part. I'll have to highlight that part in my "Geezer's Handbook".

Gosh I hope not. After logging more than 20000hrs on tractors I hope I don't have to die on one.

I have posted this before, but my father in law actually died in his tractor just behind our house. When he retired, he bought these farms and a couple of tractors. Over the years, he and I as well as my sons worked to reforest quite a bit of the hilly ground, establish native grasses, build ponds and roads, plant food plots and wild life cover and forage. We planted several acres of wild flowers and 5000 Tulips on both farms. We spent hours and hours planning our projects and my wife and I built a home here so we could spend more time working on it and we could help him as his health deteriorated.

He had hip transplants and after each, he was ordered not to drive anything. This did not last too long until I would see him pull up in his truck and tell me he was just going to go "a couple of rounds", but not to tell anyone. So I would sit in the truck while he drove the tractor; no not just a couple of rounds either.:laughing:

He had heart problems and never felt good, but driving a tractor kept his mind off it and he loved looking at the progress we had made.

On January 19th, 2000, he didn't feel well and brought his tractor up from another farm to work on the road up the hill behind our house. I was at work and my daughter noticed he had missed lunch and had my son go check on him. He was sitting in his tractor where it had come to rest against some trees with the engine going and tires spinning. He died a happy man doing what he loved.

Same here, my dad died in a nursing home after a long battle with cancer and all he could talk about was being able to get back on his tractor just one more time.

One of the men who farms our land is in his 80's and when he is not in the hospital or recovering from something, you will find him on a tractor or in a truck.

John Thomas,,, great birthday present!!!! I call those cars "Camaro Eaters". My cousin has an orange one. Of the three nostalgic cars available I like the Challenger the best. Very detail oriented right down to the orange engine block. Congrats on a great car!!!
