Same here, my dad died in a nursing home after a long battle with cancer and all he could talk about was being able to get back on his tractor just one more time.
One of the men who farms our land is in his 80's and when he is not in the hospital or recovering from something, you will find him on a tractor or in a truck.
My dad spent the last two years of his life in a nursing home wearing a diaper and drool running down his chin, alzheimer's. I cried every time I visited him. There's much worse things than death.
On a different note I lost my 71 year old neighbor last month. Found him in the timber where he had been cutting wood. Sitting against a tree with his right arm up over his head like he was simply taking a break. Looked very content.
