2013 John Deere 2320 - Questions and pricing

Looking at a 2013 John Deere 2320 with loader - no other attachments - no mower - It has less than 80 hrs on it and it very clean and well kept. Ive done my research and see the front u joint can cause issues with lack of grease. When I asked the seller about this they questioned the dealer and this was the response.... "The dealer said it is not necessary to grease the U joint on the drive shaft every 50 hours unless you have a belly mower on the tractor which I don稚. " - Now Im pretty sure this is not the case - I think with under 80 hours it should be okay but is there an easy way to inspect it?

Second is price - they seem pretty firm on $12500 - does this sound reasonable? Pricing comps has been tough - I see prices all over the place plus people can ask whatever they want - true sales are the only real guide...

The drive shaft from the engine to the trans needs greased very often. If it is not greased, it may lead to thousands of dollars in repair costs. Having a mid mount mower has nothing to do with it.There is a John Deere forum that has lots of information on the drive shaft problems on the 2320 & gen 1 2025R.

It looks good & the price sounds good.

Based on the low hours and appearance, I think this is a really good deal. I have a 2010 2320 with 800 hours. Other than the scheduled maintenance, the repairs have consisted of a battery, a fan belt, two leaky quick connects and a front tire (sidewall damage - my fault). Based on my experience it's a reliable capable machine.

I would have some questions about the dealer based on the response on the U-joint. If that was a salesman, I would try to talk to someone in the shop and see if they know anything. The U-joints definitely need regular greasing. It's not that hard once you figure it out. I suggest a flexible hose on the grease gun and needle tip. I grease mine twice a year (probably overkill) because I pull the tractor apart and clean everything Spring and Fall when I put the soft cab on and off.
