Depends on how heavy/thick it is, how the humidity is, the coming weather, and your time schedule for baling.
Tedding is good wifey work.:) unless it sacrifices her good cooking....

Do you leave all your rolls outside or are some of the "never been wet" put in a barn?
All mine set outside.

Here you go! I sure wish I could bale 4 rolls per acre. I guess that's what I have to live with since I bale with a JD baler & you use a Vermeer baler.:)

I'm sure you can just got to make the 59"x48" bales. They only weigh around 1,000

Have you actually weighed these 59" tall bales to find out they weigh 1000#s? A few yrs back I bought some Vermeer 4X5.5 bales of Brome grass from Missouri the seller stated the bales weighed 1100-1200 #s. I weighed some and they weighed 920#s. I questioned seller and he stated baler had just been serviced by dealer before hay was baled.

I haven't weighed this year no but I did last year and it was either 1020 or 1040,can't recall. I done it at feed store cause guy at work said no way,won 100 off it. Sometime will get the full 60 if slow down close to end but they normally going to spit out a 59"bale.

Jim, that was mean. Very funny, but mean. :D

There is a difference between the two. My cousin has the Vermeer, and we can stack his rolls flat side down, all the way to the roof of his barn. My JD baler makes the rolls too tight to stick a spear into the round part of the roll.

Mine tight, gotta watch you JD owners.
My cylinder on rake messed up,had take dang thing apart to go finish pasture next to house, that was a pain. End up with 117 Vermeer 5x4,tight,good smelling bales...

If he can stick a spear into the round side of a bale, color of the baler isn't the only problem he is having.
