2014 Hay Season

Jim, that was mean. Very funny, but mean. .

Aw a little bit of ribbin' never hurt anyone!!!!! I've seen JD rd bales stacked on "flat side" in a barn but they used a bale grabber(clamp). All I'm going to state is it takes a "DARN TIGHT 4X5 grass hay bale" to weigh 1000#s that will test 15% or below moisture!!!!!!!! I've bought several 18 wheeler loads of 4X5's and a few 4X5.5's that would not weigh 1000#s each

Hey Jim where you find those JD 530 parts break down from in other post if you don't mind. My buddy just picked up one and we been going threw it but don't have a manual(got one on order), think roller need is going to be a tension roller, its on the arm with the other 3 at end of it.

I counted today and have 308 bales put up and have another 20acre pasture to go. I think that's all going to keep, have buyers for 90bales,when I make more. We ended up with 2.90 in the rain gauge today so will be cutting my other two pastures again also(55acres). With all that's being made I'm sure demand will go down and be hard get rid of it all.

Typical hay story of supply & demand. Only problem is input costs(fert.parts, fuel & cost of equip) remain high but good rains do help to raise BPA average. How much do you price your fert. bales for???

I priced them at $45 but the guy seen the pasture they are going to come out of and doesn't have a weed one and knows it's been fertilized good. I will have some other to try and get rid of later, that will probably go for less to get moved.
