Tractor
JD4066R
This is the 2014 John Deere 3320......last of the 20 series prior to the 3033R's that are now out. I bought this a couple weeks ago with 3 hours on the meter.
I had originally set my sights on a 2014 JD 3520, but when I finally decided to make the purchase, that tractor had been sold, so I got the only new 3320 left at the dealers. As it was configured on the dealers lot, it had the 300x loader. As part of the deal I got them to switch it out for a 300cx loader.....no cost to me.
Has the R4 tires and single rear hydraulic outlet. Also got the Frontier SB1164 rear snow blower.
At the time I bought this tractor, they had a 2014/15 JD 4066M sitting right next to my 3320. It was tempting to spring for the 4066M, but I would have had to part with another $10K and would have had to add hydraulics to the rear, as none comes shipped from the factory. Not to mention the Tier 4 emissions
But....so far, so good with this unit. The ease of getting on/off the 3320 as compared to the 3520 with cab is night and day. And for me, I'm always hopping on and off,m so this fits the bill perfectly. The forks and the quick detach system are a dream compared to having fixed pins like I did on my JD 790.
Currently shopping around for a 85" snow bucket for the 3320.

Nice unit gls. I tried to buy one of these last year but the JD dealer was showing me next to nothing for my trade of a JD 750. I had to go with Mahindra as it was also a 10 grand out of pocket difference between the 2 tractors. Imagine, the Mahindra dealer giving me over 5K more than the JD dealer for my trade. At any rate, have you given any thought to a snow pusher as opposed to a bucket?

I briefly looked at a couple of snow pushers in the Frontier line, but IIRC they were priced more than the 85" light volume bucket. Never used or had a snow pusher before. What would be the advantages of using a snow pusher?

This company makes a snow pusher for around $1500.Snow Pusher. Pushers are much faster as you do not have to go through a dump cycle. You can still pile snow as high as your tractor is capable of with a pusher. The thing that drives up pricing on a pusher is the the composite or rubber cutting edge. These things are really expensive but come in handy if something is "hit" as there are no springs on a pusher as on a plow.

Hiya,

Something to keep in mind, those 300CX loaders require a lot of ballast on the rear of the 3000 series tractors to operate safely. I have a 3320 cab with loaded R3's, wheel weights, an extended Portland filled ballast box and the rears get light when I pick up heavy pallets. I have had mine on 3 wheels more than once, it's very easy and it happens quick.

My two cents,

Tom

Please post if you find a non-Deere large bucket for snow. I want a large bucket for snow & mulch, but cannot swallow the new Deere price.

Enjoy your 3320, mines sips fuel and is the handiest tree felling, firewood processing, snow removing, & material moving CUT available.

Gls 1320 , wondering what model of pallet forks you have there and are they fixed position on the bottom but yet slide on the top or do the forks separate at the bottom when let down ? Thanks Hoddykubody

The pallet forks are a Frontier make, model, AP12F, 42"...and they are attached at the bottom and slide along the top rail. Used them many times, wonderful thing, those pallet forks. How did I ever get along without them in the past.
And in regards to previous comments about snow pushers, I did end up also purchasing a Frontier AS10H snow pusher. Should be able to clear the drive in 2 passes with this unit. And the way the weather is headed up here in the northland, it won't be long till I get to try the snow pusher out.
