2015 Hay Season

Eddie there is a cutting restriction on the label. You can spray then cut as long as you wait till after the restriction. Or you can cut let regrowth start then spray. Usually it ends up being spray cut and spray. Because you spray winter/spring weeds then cut and your summer weeds start to grow.

Eddie will need to wait 7days on 2-4d and 27days on Grazon P+D before can cut and bale. The best cutting is going to be 2nd cause a lot of times the 3rd may not be fertilized and the 1st will have some weeds old grass, etc in it. I can find you some good quality hay around these parts if you won't to not have worry with buying from just whoever.

I usually apply in the fall after the last cutting. The weeds are growing so it is effective but without the heat it seems to be more effective on a broader range of weeds. I have sprayed in the spring but long before cutting - by doing that i miss the later season weeds.

This spring is crazy ... Everything is out of control haven't been able to spray, fertilize ... cant turn a wheel. The rains have pounded me. Driveway to the North is washed completly out, cattle guard on the south drive is gone ... lost one pond dike.

Its so darn wet and cloudy, more rain predicted ... feel's like I'm under house arrest!! Can't even get a load of rocks or gravel delivered.

I tried working on fences this morning and just sank thru the mush while walking .... so I thought I'll just mow the lawn NOT. Forecast calls for locally heavy 4-8" Saturday night into Sunday. I don't think the other pond dike will survive this one!!!

My neighbor cut about 18 acres today. He is planning to bale it tomorrow and get it delivered, expecting 90-100 4x5's. The customer he is selling them to is planning on wrapping them, which is why he is able to get them baled so fast. My fields are almost ready to cut so we'll see how the weather works out the next couple weeks.

The hay got baled yesterday so the guys that jumped in made the right decision. It all looked nice. It looks like rain all next week.

Beautiful crop Gratefull11.

It is so wet here you can't drive a Gator across field without leaving some ruts. If it ever dries out, there will be plenty to cut.

That does look good Greatful11.

Creamer I was just for sure when I was looking on radar and you said they had cut some up there I scrolled up to see and they lucked out from what it looked like rain coming. Glad they got it up anyways, bigger gambler than me.

I think I'm going to be glad I purchased that new Tedder last year, cause I believe this year,we are going to have short windows to get it done around here.
