Why mow them off?

I get all my hay off of neighbors. Must be mowed twice a year regardless. So I'll run a brush hog over them high 8-10 inches to knock out any weeds and seed heads. Makes their places look better and I don't loose all my summer growth. Also makes reseeding easier if I do any.

Same here. And it keeps your neighbors happy. Since it is free hay, small price to pay.
