2016 College Football Season and Playoff

Make the scenario even more - what if Florida, VT, and Penn State all win? Not likely - but stranger things have happened.

Now, take that a bit further. If they out the Conference champs through ..... what if Florida took it all :pullinghair:

Florida does not deserve to go ..... even if they do happen to beat Alabama (and I am a Florida fan). That said, if Penn State wins, since they did beat Ohio State, one could argue they do.

I am one who would like to see 16 teams

How can double overtime be boring?

Don't be silly.....the double overtime was not boring.......the 4 qtrs. before the OT was! LOL! BTW......Washington will beat Colorado tonight so.......they should be in the playoffs......GO DAWGS!!!

I'd go with Mich over OSU easily. Mich played a very tough OSU team on the road in a very hostile environment and won (nevermind what the score ended up being; the officials gave the game to OSU with that gracious first down spot). Yes, I said it, Michigan won. I know this will generate some responses ;-)

While I absolutely hate Clemson, they will win this weekend easily in my opinion and should be ranked #2. (this from a Gamecock fan)

Alabama has certainly earned their spot.

I'd like to see Colorado in it, but truly believe they won't last long no matter who else gets in.

We'll see how this shakes out.

Oklahama over michigan.....maybe.But their only win yet over a ranked opponent is WVU. I just dont see how Colorado can jump Mich with the Head to head.

We shall all see in due time though.

OU would also have a win against a ranked OSU, and be a conference champion, and have won a bunch of games in a row. Michigan has 2 recent losses, one bad one, and is not a conference champion. At the end of the day they will use that as the excuse the same way they did against TCU a couple of years ago when they fell out of the top 4 in spite of winning that week simply because they were not conference champs. It's not fair but that seem to be how it works. In reality Michigan and tOSU are probably the teams who should be in the playoff but Wisconsin or PSU will end up with Michigan's spot simply because they are conference champs.

I do not think the committee is looking to disregard conference championships and I do not think they would put 3 schools from any conference in the playoff leaving 3 of the p-5 conferences out which means a huge part of the country would not be represented which will be bad for TV ratings and overall interest which certainly plays a role in all this. Even a conference getting 2 spots in the playoff is going to be a pretty big deal IMO.

In the end it probably won't matter as I don't see anyone but possibly Clemson having the talent to go toe to toe with Bama.

I watched Penn State play 4 years at Beaver stadium when I went to school there. Although that was close to 30 years ago, still get excited if I can catch one of their games on TV now that they aren't being blown out of the water (kind of funny have 11 year old boys who are NC State and UNC fans LOL).

Can tell you, watching Penn State back in the late 70's and 80's, they always seemed to be on the short end of the stick without a playoff system back then.

I do believe down the road the playoffs will include more teams.

Just came back from Norman Oklahoma for work. It's funny how big college football really is across the nation, particularly when you stay at the Sooners hotel. Since living in NC well over a decade now, have a LOT of respect for the SEC. Always thought football was big up north, just as big down south.

Michigan beat Penn State. Michigan tied Ohio State. Penn State beat Ohio State.

One reason why if these 3 teams are in the top ten, they need to expand the playoff system.

I was able to watch that game... I thought it was a good, but frustrating game. Michigan had an ailing QB who fumbled (uncharacteristic) and threw two interceptions (also uncharacteristic). Michigan also fell victim to some very questionable calls from the refs. It's worth noting that two of OSU's scores came directly off of those turnovers... And their offense couldn't get much going for most of the game. But, is also worth noting that OSU's kicker missed two fields goals, so OSU "should" have scored 6 additional points.

I really feel that UofM and OSU are quite evenly matched, and if you look at the scores of the games they played against common teams, I think UofM actually had a better score differential.

Can't same much about ACC... But 'Bama certainly looks to be a solid team.

I guess it's time for the chaos to begin in a few minutes for the PAC. Sounds like lots of Michigan fans on here will be rooting for Colorado to win in the hopes of Michigan getting Washington's playoff spot.

I have not watched Colorado pay at all and only a little bit of Washington but it was pretty impressive. Should be a great game.

Washington is killing Colorado.......Dawgs are going to the playoffs and they are two years ahead of schedule. Peterson is a great coach.....this is the first year he has his own players.....he will have Washington in contention for years. GO DAWGS!!!!.
