We test drove the f-150 at the same time. Nice truck, but we still need to drive it every day. Its the size of a small freighter and no fun to operate in town.

I saw a grey Ranger today. Looked very sharp!

That said if the MPG is about the same as. 2.7L F150, I would opt to the F150 for size reasons. That is just my :2cents:

Having said THAT, I repeat, the Ranger sure looked SHARP.

How is that for sitting on the fence?

If you're really in the market for a new truck, you should compare and test drive any & all that you are remotely interested in. Size is certainly a big factor, but there are so many nuances, even between trims of the same model, that it's worth sampling to make sure you get what really appeals to YOU. Lot's of great choices for sure.

I feel the same way. A lot of times the smaller size is nice. (although I doubt I would take a brand new truck the places that I go with my '04) Yet for similar mileage and more payload it will be a tough choice.

If you're driving for any length of time, the interior room & comfort of the F150 is a HUGE factor, when comparing to the mid-size trucks, especially if you're a larger person. And if you're hauling adults in the back, again, it's a HUGE difference. Thus the importance of test driving different models.

Goop points. Also compare like trim levels, the seats in the Lariat were different felling than the XLT. Take the time to really adjust the seat before test driving.
I noticed that the Air pressure in the tires was 45 PSI. They must come from the factory like that. Reducing it to the recommended 35 PSI improves the ride. You can go through the menu on the dash to see the air pressure.

Well gee, this is good to know. I'm going to check our tries PSI since it rides rather rough.

I would be getting whatever I buy without the back seat. All that they do is take up space, and between my dog and my wet clothes at the end of a rainy day they are just a PITA. One thing I like about the Ranger vs the F150 is the lower price... $9K is a lot of money to me.

We got the mini rear cab because they come with the longer box. Dogs fit back there just fine.

For sure, $9K is a big decision point! All these new trucks are so expensive as it is.
