Can anyone tell me what the recommended cross-referenced engine oil to use in a 2019 Mahindra 1626 Shuttle Shift? The Mahindra brand seems a little pricy and I am trying to research what other options (Brands / Formulas) there may be. (This is the part number per the OEM... MCK15W401Q12 and Part Name Mahindra Heavy Duty SAE 15W-40 CK-4) Thanks!

You can use Rotella 15-40 and Rotella 5-40 in the winter if you have cold winters wherever you are. They are also heavy duty diesel oils. Been putting that in mine for the last 8 yrs and my previous JD for 28.

Thank you! We are in New Market Alabama so no harsh/cold winters here. You don't also have a cross-reference on all the filters it takes, do you? (Hydro, oil, air, etc.) I am new to owning/operating a tractor so please excuse my newness.

There's nothing to excuse.
I have always used Mahindra filters.
For the amount of time they are in the tractor and the limited use the tractor gets (maybe 50 hrs per year), its just easier for me to go down to the dealers and buy their filters.
When I happen to be at Walmart or Tractor Supply, I buy the Rotella.
What I save on the oil, leaves enough for the filters.

I'd use a 5w40 or 0w40 year round. That would meet and exceed the 15w40 specs. Can get T6 stuff at a reasonable price.

Good point! The only problem is my dealer is about 1.5 hours from me in 1 direction so 3 hours round trip. I guess I could order OEM P/N filter online to save some time. Thanks for the idea!

I’ll second the recommendation to use OEM filters, order them online in bulk if need be. I’m in Lower Alabama (on the Gulf coast) and I use Rotella T6 5w-40 full synthetic year round. Can’t beat the price at WM and if I have to fire up the tractor on a cold morning I know my engine is protected. 👍

I found a cross-referenced filter a Wix 51365 that fit and used it for the first 50 hours change.

What do you recommend for the hydraulic fluid?

This is a tougher one to ascertain. Warren Oil Co. is who makes Mahindra stuff. Napa sells "Coastal" oils also made by Warren. My manual states you can use Chevron THD or Texaco but try and find these and they are no cheaper when I was trying to find alternative hydraulic /tranny fluid.

People have been putting the Tractor Supply stuff in their machines with seemingly no ill affects but there have been some issues with their cheap line of oils just barely meeting specs. Personally, I wouldn't use it.
You can get 9 gallons of Mahindra stuff for $150 at Bill's Tractor. I don't think it includes shipping which adds up.

The key is to match additives that the Mahindra oil has and I doubt any "good" oil is going to be cheap. I'd ask your dealer to ship you the Mahindra stuff and call it a day. We don't change it often like motor oils anyway so whats $150 over say 4 or 5 years with added piece of mind that you're using what the manufacturer is calling for.

You can Google Warren to see what they say.
