I would hope that the Can-Am is quieter than the Polaris Rangers. What is the point of a side by side if you can't even talk with each other? I want a quiet ride in my old age.

I operated the 1st defender sold in our area for a few thousand hours and posted a review of it in the atv/utv section on this forum. "Rural living" might not be the best location to be asking about UTV's. It was not trouble free but can-am seems to have addressed many of the issues we had with ours. I would get another. For us, they were used 100% as work machines.

Thanks Arly. I posted in “Rural Living” to solicit input from folks who use their side x sides for ranch use as opposed to recreation purposes.

I’ve had Polaris UTVs since the mid 1990’s and never even considered Can-Am but .. seems they’ve made great improvements in their side x sides. Quieter .. better ride .. more power .. etc.

Rick personally I have owned Yamaha Honda Kawasaki John Deere and Suzuki and Polaris. That started in 1992 to present. In reality none of them gave me any trouble that causes my mind to remember. It is odd that after each different brand I went back to Polaris. I know can am is extremely fast but according to my friends that still ride always needing something to keep them going. In their opinion Honda is most dependable and automatic transmission works flawlessly just like a car. Hope this helps
