2021 Growing Season

Somehow, you would think nature would be smarter —- not blooming and showing all its tender vegetation before the last freeze.

I can easily believe humans would jump the gun at the first hint of good weather. But, nature should know better.

68 here, the soil temp under plastic is up to 55’. Hopefully it will warm enough to bring up the peas I planted two weekends ago.

It's been a drought since end of February & 78-80F for 3 or 4 days in a row now and cherries, pears and plums are in full bloom!

We have had to start watering some of the fruit trees.

My corn was planted 4 days ago. AND hopefully yesterday was the last time it snows for a while. I think spring is here?

Radishes came up yesterday... the only reason I plant them is to see something green in the garden.

They called for rain and 33 tonight.
No rain, but the 33 is still on the table :)
Would have been happier with a switch, we will see how radishes hold up.
Broccoli too....
But did not transplant the tomatoes or squash yet.

Hope everyone has minimal to no losses.

Might tempt fate and put some sacrificial Tomatoes out. Cabbage is sprouting, garlic about 1 1/2 inches high. Carrots, nothing yet, potatoes just poking up out of the dirt.

Peach blooming, Crab wants to, but not yet.
