The soil under plastic is up to 68, that which isn’t is around 60. It appears that covering it is helping. With 40 degree rain in the forecast tomorrow, the plastic should help keep the temperature up.
Tonight I’ll get my squash started in peat pots. It’s a bit early yet but I’m starting it in a heated sand bed and can build a cold frame easily enough... which my small kerosene heater is designed for.
