yes a .17 round is a .22 caseing but uses a necked down cartage to hold the .17 bullet.

Loved reading this post on 22's! My sister gave me a nylon 66 over 30 years ago. I still use it, and it still works great. The only time I have had a misfire or ejection problem was either using old ammo or real cheap ammo.
I really like the bolt and slide actions too, but man, when you really want to throw some lead the semi's do a great job. It will bring a smile to anyone :~)
Also, some have talked about "clips"? Isn't that what women put in their hair ;~) I believe the proper name is "magazine". But feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
Btw, keep your eyes on those who want to usurp the 2nd ammendment more than they already have! I am a former police officer, and it is just a down right shame the way they lie about guns and statistics!
As for me, I will continue to put a bug in my representatives ear on leaving their liberal, lily livered fingers off of my arms!!!
But no matter what law they pass, I for one will always be armed. It is my second amendment RIGHT. Not to mention my God given right (Luke 22).
To some I probably sound like one of them right wing nuts...not really, I just know history, and I also know you will never keep your first amendment RIGHT, without the 2nd.
Again, loved the post, it brought back a lot of memories, and now I have the itch to go pop a few caps off.

I've got a 10-22 that's kinda tricked out with a stock, bull barrell and scope and it's a mighty fine shooter. But the danged thing is so heavy now that all it's good for is shooting off a bench or the hood of a truck.

What I really enjoy is my old Remington 514 single shot, a box of CCI CB shorts and a little spinner target about 50 yds. out.

Just prop me up on a sunny warm afternoon, leave me alone (but come check on me occasionally) and let me shoot that little single shot.

That's about all I need.

Haven't had a chance to fire it yet.
Been to cold to wet and to busy.
On top of that my only brother passed away a week ago yesterday.
I was going over to his place to see him 2 times a day for almost a week before he died.
No time for plinking with all that's been going on lately.
