2210 Cab choices?

Unfortunately I don't think you'll find much of a deal on a snowblower at this time of the year, although I see them once in a while on eBay. During this past summer, I found the 59" 2-stage snowblower (front part only) in a dealer lot. It had been returned (unused) from a local municipality as being "too small"(?). Originally was part of a package with a JD 42/43/4400 series tractor. I needed to purchase mounting & drivetrain parts as well as minor hydraulics modifications to make it work with my JD 790. (Note: mounting bracket, Mid PTO and drivetrain parts add up to some $$ as well). Here's the link for the
JD 790 snowblower installation and 790 Mid PTO installation. Also you might want to take a look at this thread concerning the Mid PTO bracket for the 790 Quick tach bracket for 59"snowblower

Please tell us more about the heater, as I've thinking about one as well. Thanks,

BUY A CAB IF SNOWBLOWING!

Last month I tried blowing snow (without a cab) wearing a ski parka, ski pants, insulated boots, hat and goggles and still froze my buns and other parts. This morning we had about 6 inches of snow and snowblowing with a cab (even an inexpensive one from OTC) makes a world of difference. It was still fun even at 6am.

Mountain_man...I 2nd & 3rd your opinion of blowing snow with a cab vs. no cab. It makes it FUN! Kick back and listen to the tunes whilst moving copious amounts of snow. There is a God!!

OTC 2210 Cab Picture

Here is a picture of a 2210 with an Original Tractor Cab Co cab on it in case anyone is interested. I wasn't able to find it on their web site so I bugged them until they sent me a real picture. They tell me the top is stabilized by attaching to the top of the ROPS.

Just a note about OTC cab and wind. Over the past weekend we've had some wind gusts up to about 50 MPH and have no issues with the cab.

Mountain Man, have you had any fogging problems yet with the new cab ?? I havent had any seat time or enough snow since I put my cab on.

Rick - No problems here with fogging, just some "ice crystals" that tend to stick on the windshield. However keep in mind, it's very dry (rel humidity usually < 20%) here in the mountains, so fogging isn't a problem anyway. (Though the dryness makes good skiing in "Champagne powder").

Just a side note, I may change out the lights, since they tend to be too sharply focused (like spot lights) /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. A flood light style is probably a better choice. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Rick - Started snowing this morning and so far about 8" with Relative Humidity of 83%, temperature 27 degrees. Had some fogging after about 30 mins of snowblowing. Nothing that a soft cloth couldn't take care of. Can't emphasize enough how much more enjoyable it is to snowblow with a cab (even the cheap one from OTC).

Mountain Man - We finally got enough snow to plow this evening, and I can't agree with you enough about the OTC cab. I spent about a hour and a half moving snow tonight, and very little fogging problems, except when I turn around to back up, that back window is a little close to my nose! It was nice not fighting the wind in my face every second on the tractor and not being covered in snow by the time I was done.
