17 Hours 4075r, It started making an odd sound. I needed to move 2000lb pallets of pellets and could not pick them up.

I can’t swear to it but I think I’ve had to use my feet to stomp down the 3 point arms before if nothing is hooked up.

Jumping up and down isn’t the word I’d use, just push down with you foot a little, it doesn’t take much.

Yes I get what you are saying, and thanks for the reply. But 185 pounds is not enough to lower my draft arms, guess I need to eat more

Never had to do that on the Case 970, Ford 8N, 3000, the Rhino 554, or the British Leyland 344.


JD needs to improve their Pre delivery Inspection and dealers start sending defective new tractors back to the factory. No excuse for this on a New $68 K tractor.

Any 68 HP tractor should be able to easily lift a ton pallet out of a pick up bed.

I read where he wanted to unload a pallet that weighs 2000 pounds which may be a bold ambition for the tractor without throwing off a few bags first. I don’t think he plans on unloading 2000 pallets. He should probably get a dedicated forklift if he is.

When I replied the title and the wording in his first post said “2K pallets of pellets”, I took that as 2000 pallets of pellets, but I’m guessing it was edited

Another JD dealer wanted to see the tractor and spent 3 hours there. Since it would not curl, they got a smaller pallet stuck on the tractor. He did not realize how weak it was and titled it down, so they had no way to lower it. They had to go to the back and sit on the ramp. They then grabbed a 4044m with the 440e economy loader, which quickly lifted and curled the same pallet. The difference was day and night, even with a lower-spec loader. The general manager was perplexed as the other JD dealer said it worked perfectly. I kept telling him they would not listen, and I could not understand why they kept saying 1500-1800 lbs max lift. The GM said he planned to call the other dealer to see how they tested. I sent the information to JD's primary contact but have not heard anything. They did not keep the tractor as they were unsure what to do and told me to keep it until they knew. I reiterated that I no longer wanted the tractor after 10 hours of use and nothing but problems.
