Recently traded in the X585 for the 2210 and due to the beautiful weekend got some seat time. I have been changing the slope behind my pool as it was not conducive to mowing with the tractor. I started the project with the x585/ 45 loader and will finish with the 2210, hopefully /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif This not a big slope but with a fence at the bottom makes it difficult to maneuver. The trade up was inspired by the limited lifting capacity of the loader and limitations of the 3pt. on the X. The 2210 vs. X585 is like night and day. I will miss the overall quietness of the 585 as the 2210 seems to have more transmission/hydraulics noise in addition the the gas vs. diesel noise. The egress of getting on and off due to not having the hump is in favor of the 2210. I did manage to rub the ROPS on the fence but also did that with the bars sticking up on the 45 loader. I did do a no-no though and that was the first time on the tractor I had it in high gear. Started down the slope and tried backing up the hill. It did not seem like it wanted to go so I thought to put in low range. Once I got to neutral the tractor started rolling forward while I'm frantically trying to grind into low range. Luckily the bucket dug into the dirt and stopped the tractor before it slamed into the fence and maybe the pool. I completely forgot to push the brake with my left foot (DUH!)So far I am pleased with the 2210 and it has done everything I asked of it.

hi. Am a new 2210 owner, too, and I know the feeling of fumbling for the pedals and grinding the gears, FOR SURE! Boy, isn't that a stomach-churning moment!!!! Kinda makes you want to get off the thing and catch your breath until you realize that your knees are wobbly! I grabbed every lever and pushed every pedal within reach. Attachments were flying up and down like hand-raising in a revival. It gives you a whole new understanding of the phrase "Holy S---!!!!!!!!"

Don't you guys go raising that FEL by mistake when you're on a side slope. I'm still occasionally thinking the FEL stick is the old hand clutch we had as a kid on the Allis.

I keep making some mistakes with my 4010. Posted about my LX4 goofs recently in the general Operating section.

Sounds to me like this is a case of the "pucker factor". LOL /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Awwwwww, that's a shame. And it was so shiney too.
word of the wise; always apply firm pressure to left pedal when shifting right lever. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif grinding sound not good.
