2210 or 4110

Other than the approximate $2500 (20%) cost difference between the 2210 and 4110? I figured my 4010 only cost me about $700 more than a 2210 with features that are not offered on it such as R4's and FROPS.

Street price differences seem to be around $2,000 perhaps? OK - I'll admit, after looking at $26,000-$30,000 packages on bigger tractors - at first that didn't seem to be too significant - but I guess it does represent a fair amount %-wise.

But I gotta wonder, if they are that close under the covers (tires notwithstanding) howz the 4110 $2K more?

Of course that is from Deere, the folks that seem to be now offering otherwise identical (?) tractors (albeit with different pump/turbo settings) with price differences over $6,000! (4120=$23,198,4720=$29,615). /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

LOL. Right you are! I would really like to hear the tap dance from Deere trying to explain the cost differences. I don't know that I've checked every internal engine/tranny part number on JDParts yet but I'll be danged if I've spotted a difference so far between any of the Twenty series - outside of the model number decal and price.

Anyway - back on the 2210 vs. 4110 - if there is that much difference in tilt/pucker - then I guess if you accept it as (roughly) the same tractor but built in a different config for special duty (lower) ala the narrow version utility ag tractors built for orchards and vineyards - then it would have it's place. Horses for courses.

According to many posts here, about everyone walking into their Deere dealer to look at a X-series has been told "Well, if you're going to add 4WD, the pto, and 3 pt. you might as well go with the 2210." Makes me wonder - which machine has the better profit margin on it and which has sold the most units ? I have a good idea of how many are happy with each - you don't see any 2210's on Ebay, or I have'nt yet.

They are on eBay from time to time. Sometimes as scams like when they have a buy it now price of $2,500 and will ship free worldwide. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hey, Andre. Sorry for the delayed response.

I owned a 2210 for about a year, and have had my 4110 for about 4 months (60 hours now). I traded up under unusual circumstances.

I had one of the original "leakers." My toplink hinge plate leaked the same weekend it was delivered and it took one too many attempts to fix it. My dealer and Deere worked out a deal where I could have either traded for a new replacement 2210 or trade up for a 4110. I took the opportunity to trade up even though I was happy with what the 2210 could do. More machine at a good cost is almost always a good deal, regardless of the conditions.

I will say I am happier with the 4110 because of its details and appointments. The 4110 offers many advantages over the 2210 in features and performance, but the 2210 will accomplish pretty much the same type of work with a little added time and attention on the part of the operator.

The 4110 engine is set up differently with the same block (stronger torque curve and different injection and exhaust). The hydraulic flow and pressure are greater. The true Cat 1 3-PH has position control. Cruise control is standard and a folding ROPS is offered. Little things like vibration dampening floorboards make the 4110 more comfortable than the 2210 was, for me.

However...the 2210 was a great mowing machine. So is the 4110, but on the lower end of the "great" scale. The tighter turning radius of the 2210 is minor, but notable. The 2210 did everything I asked of it. The 4110 does those same things a little faster and with a little more comfort.

Is it worth a couple $grand more? Try them both. I really can't complain about either choice for my useage.

Well money is a factor. Today I got a quote for the 2210 that was $11,360 . The 4110 came in at $14,400. Thats $3000 that I could be buying implements etc.. Its the smallest dealer here but the larger dealer won't budge from $11900. Also i went to see the New holland tz24e And they came in at $11,400. What do you guys think?

I'm thinkin that dealer wants to sell you a 2210.
Just talked to my brother, and he is very happy with his. That doesn't mean anything about what you want one for, and more attachments means more fun.

If that's a quote without a loader it is very high, I think.
