2210 Plastic Hydrostatic Cooling Fan Replacement

Not sure if it would line up completely but may be worth a closer look is to look on jdparts and see the specs of a front tranny hydro oil cooler in front of the radiator like is on the 2320 or 4110-4115 and determine if that could be easily used.

Replacement of the fan can be done without splitting the tractor. I replaced mine by removing the floor board, fender, and ROPS. From there you will find cover over the flywheel on the right hand side. If you remove tht you can get in and drive out the roll pin holding the driveshaft in place on the splined shaft. Once the roll pins are removed you can slide the shaft on the splines enough to remove it without having to move the transmission or engine. Taking the ROPS, fenders, and floorboard off is not a bad job. It only takes about 30 minutes

Was this modified/improved on the 2305 or 2320? If so, how much better is it?

thanks

I cut mine in half and bolted it on. So far it no problems. I would like to install an oil cooler at some point down the road.

Hi Guys
I just replaced mine using the method of taking the universial joint apart. It was not that hard to do if you remove the bracket for the deck height adjustment, Took me about a hour but I was in no big hurry.

I cut the fan in half, with a coping saw, leaving two holes and half the blades on one side and two holes and half the blades on the other side. Sorry, but I did not get a picture before I put the tractor back together.
If it breaks again, I will try and remove the U-joint or the fly wheel cover.

I am planning on adding a cooler in the future and maybe a rear remote. There are two aux ports on the pump that are plugged and not in use. I plan on using those ports to run oil through a cooler and then to a rear remote.

When you cut the fan in "half" you actually end up with three blades on one "half" and four on the other since there is an odd number of blades - seven.

Just didn't want to confuse anyone. The important thing is that there are two mounting holes left on each of the two pieces into which you cut the fan.

Taking apart the U-joint is an interesting option. I may go that route the next time the fan gets torn up which is inevitable.

That is correct. Two holes on each half. 3 blades on one side and 4 on the other.

has anyone tried to drop (remove) the driveshaft of a 2305 or like tractor to replace the trans plastic cooling fan, by removing the three bolts on the flange at the flywheel end? the flange is part of the splined shaft that the U-joint is pined to (double roll pins and a "C" ring)

I lost the cheap plastic fan one month past the warrenty!
