I cannot answer that for you, but I've read somewhere on this forum that Kubota is selling that u-joint. It was for a 2305 but I suspect it to be the same as yours. Do a search on this forum, you might find it or go to a Kubota dealer if one is close, they may be able to help you. Good luck!

I remember that post also. The poster even provided the part number.

"Kubota u-joint would work on the JD driveshaft. Part number --#37410-13722. Sells on Amazon for $33".

"After completely disassembling my tractor etc. and discovering there was nothing left of my PTO "spider bearings" as they are called except for some reddish brown powder I went to JD and ordered up 2 spider bearing kits. I think they were about $30 each. Pounded out the powdery old ones and tapped (gently) in the new pin bearings, greased GENEROUSLY, and good to go!
The JD PART NUMBER for the bearings is LVA803335."

Yep, I bought a pair of those and they work fine.

As for the fan,,, I've been running without mine for three years now with no issues. I only mow and push snow, no heavy tillage work.

I really appreciate all of the updates.

I did hear talk of putting an external cooler on the hydraulic lines. I wonder if anyone made that happen? I find that preferential to pulling my transmission out next time.

I did get two ujoint without the grease fittings from the U Joint store. They are 20mm by 55mm. $40 gets two of them. I will see how they work.

I noticed that the hydro connectors have copper rings on them. Do those need to be replaced each time you disconnect the lines?

I would to be safe. Same as the copper or aluminum washer on your car's oil drain plug. You would be kicking yourself having to replace the washer after you re-assembled everything, started the tractor, and had hydro oil spraying all over the place.....

I am sure they are not that expensive. I will call JD to get a set.

Now my current dilemma. I have just crossed a milestone. I slid the tranny about 2-3 inches back (actually, I pushed the front end forward. I have enough movement to put the fan on which was my main goal. Congradulate me! :). While I have it broken down this far, I was thinking about looking into my gear whine while the transmission is under load. I am thinking that maybe one of the pinion gears may worn causing this noise. Anyone else have this problem with 2210? When I drained the oil and pulled the magnets out, they had filings on them and this is my second change. Does this warrant digging deeper into the transmission? The downside is I do not have a garage or concrete floor to work on to do this work. I only have an out building. So far, I am manipulating everything on jack stands and the frame is still sort of plugged in to the transmission. Any thoughts?

Well, I am in deep now. I pulled off the right axle and cover to expose part of the drive train range gears. I can see the differential bull and pinion as well as some upstream gearing (counter shaft).. So far I am seeing nothing out of the ordinary. Not what I expected. Wondering where else I should look for oddly worn parts.

What would make this thing so noisy? When there is stress on the drive train, it is very whiney. I watched some youtube videos of other peoples 2210 and their engine makes more noise than their transmission. That is not the case for me. The transmission is louder when there is even slight load on the tractor, such as accellerating or hill climbing or towing a trailer. Where else should I look? Would this sound like a noisy hydro motor issue?
