I got a quote on paper today; 2210 with HDAP tires, FEL , 62" MMM, 72" rear blade, and 48" tiller.... (drum roll) $15,300 any comments please? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The "standard" going rate for a 2210/FEL/62C is about $12,900 so you're paying $3400 for the tiller and blade. You might want to price the tiller and blade separately at another dealer just to make sure you're in the ballpark.

fgross, according to my calculator, if the price is 12900 for the 2210 with FEL and 62"mmm then I would be paying $2400 for tiller and blade which isn't terribly far out of line is it?

Well the tiller would be some one grand. But I noticed at the dealer I work for we have brand new Frontier rear blades on sale for like $450. They look like they might work with the 2210 but not sure.

I was quoted a Frontier tiller last fall, I think 50", maybe 48".

Yes, I think he said $450 for the 72" blade, and something like 1800 for the tiller. I'm sure there's a little room for negotiating.

You're right, my math was faulty, $2400, not $3400. The Deere tiller is a lot of bucks, if you do a search in the attachments forum you'll see many threads on tillers. Howse is one company mentioned that makes a good tiller for a lot less $$$.
I have a cheapie 5ft blade on my 2210....$249 scratch and dent special...and after $10 in spray paint it looks good and worked great this winter plowing snow. Right now I have a small tiller on my 335 but when I replace it with one for the 2210, it probably won't be a Deere - too much $$$ for a device I use 1-2 weekends a year.

You should be OK with a 48" tiller. Some 2210 owners also are running 42"s and are happy with them...but then you need an offset to one side to cover your wheel tracks.
The 6ft rear blade is a bit much. Over the winter I plowed our sub's 1200 ft private drive once because our snowplow guy's truck was down. I have 100 pounds in wheel weights on each rear wheel and was running turf tires at the time. The first pass through 6-8 inches of snow went fine. but then I tried to drive THROUGH the snow to move the snow farther out. I quickly found I could only move another 2-3 feet at a time, not enough traction ( even with the FEL on the front and running 4WD) to pull the blade through so much snow. In heavy wet snow the 6 footer could be quite a challenge for the 2210. The 5 footer, even when angled, covers the entire footprint of the tractor, it's a good match for this baby CUT.
